Talking about perimenopause and how a simple conversation around it makes a whole lot of difference

Everyone’s talking about perimenopause, but what if we’re starting the conversation twenty years too late?Every day, women in their forties and fifties search for answers to hot flushes, brain fog, anxiety, sleepless nights and hormonal upheaval.

But holistic women’s health practitioner Robyn Llewellyn believes they’re asking the wrong question.

Those symptoms often don’t begin in perimenopause.

  • They begin decades earlier.
  • Long before the hot flushes.
  • Long before the hormone tests.
  • Long before most women are taught to listen to what their bodies are trying to tell them.

After almost two decades working in corporate health and beauty, including as the marketing director for a leading period care company, Robyn thought she understood women’s health. She knew the products, the research and the market. She had a successful career, a loving partner, three children and, from the outside, a life many women would envy.

Yet behind the smile, she was exhausted. She was pushing through crushing fatigue, brain fog, heavy periods and the growing sense that her body was trying to tell her something she couldn’t yet hear. Then one day it simply said, ‘No more.’ Walking away from corporate life, Robyn began to study holistic kinesiology, Traditional Chinese Medicine and nervous system regulation.

What she discovered would transform both her own health and the way she believes women should understand their bodies.Robyn realised she’d spent years helping women manage their health and periods without ever being taught what the menstrual cycle was really trying to communicate.‘A woman’s menstrual cycle isn’t simply about reproduction. It’s a monthly report card on her overall health.

We have a conversation with Robyn Llewellyn about her new book that helps you with understanding your body and perimenopause with Flow Well Be Well.
