Kirsten McHugh, walking Spain's iconic Camino Trail became far more than a holiday, it became a journey of connection, perspective and gratitude.

After her husband's cancer diagnosis, the couple chose to stop waiting for the "right time" and set off on one of the world's most famous walking trails. Along the way, they embraced the simplicity of life on foot, shared unforgettable encounters with fellow pilgrims, discovered breathtaking landscapes and found joy in slowing down and being present.

In her book 'Seekers, Sinners & Me,' Kirsten shares why walking the Camino changed her outlook on life, the unexpected lessons learned from travelling at a slower pace, and why the memories made along the trail became far more valuable than any destination. Thankfully, Kirsten and her husband Jack made the decision to hike the Camino; soon after arriving back at their South Sydney home, Jack was diagnosed again with a more aggressive cancer and passed away after a hard fight. 

Her story is a reminder that some of the greatest adventures aren't measured in kilometres, but in the moments and connections you make along the way.
